  Buckinghamshire Community Foundation
Provides Grant to Chandos Park		   Indoor Sunday Knockout 2009   Sponsored Shirts from Buckingham Ford  
   The Buckinghamshire Community Foundation is an independent registered charity dedicated to promoting charitable activity within the County.  We specialise in making awards to groups at grass roots level who otherwise might not be able to access support.  Since January 2000 we have helped over 1,000 projects within the County and given over £1.5 million in grants.  Bev Trevitt, the Foundation’s Outreach Officer, is pleased today to present a grant for £5,000 to the Chandos Park Bowls Club.  This is a Grassroots Grant which will contribute to the costs of improving the standard of the bowling green to county standard.     Throughout the indoor season the Chandos Park team has been participating in the Sunday Knockout Tournament. Past success in the competition was repeated when Chandos ran out comfortable winners against neighbours Buckingham West End     Buckingham Ford has teamed up this season with Chandos Park to provide the club with funding for new club shirts. The new shirts are being worn below by Chandos Park members John Leicester-Finch and from left to right Andy Hunt, John White and Mick Etherington.

  In addition to its other funds, Buckinghamshire Community Foundation is administering the Grassroots Grants Programme throughout the county on behalf of The Office of the Third Sector, a Central Government Department.  These grants are designed to reach small volunteer led community groups working on a diverse range of projects for the benefit of local people.  The Foundation will be delivering these grants for the next two years and would like to hear from small community groups which feel they may be eligible.
